BRANDI LOWELL

Brandi Lowell has unique legislative and executive branch, overseas, and private sector experience. Brandi began her career on Capitol Hill in the Tennessee congressional delegation, working for former U.S. Representatives Bob Clement and Lincoln Davis as well as Tennessee’s adopted son, former Representative Heath Shuler. After a decade of Hill experience, Brandi held nearly every position, including Legislative Director, Chief of Staff, and Press Secretary for Members of Congress from the nation’s most competitive swing districts. Brandi has worked closely with House Leadership, staffed the House Committees on Appropriations, Financial Services, and Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I), and has worked with various congressional coalitions and caucuses.

In the Executive Branch, Brandi served the U.S. Embassy Mexico City in the Narcotics Affairs Section (NAS). There she constructed and implemented the Embassy’s communications strategy for the $1.2 billion Mérida Initiative, served on the Ambassador’s Narcotics Affairs Policy Team, prepared briefs directly for Mexican President Calderon and his administration, and authored content for congressional testimony by senior U.S. Department of State officials. Brandi was awarded the U.S. Department of State’s Meritorious Honor Award for outstanding performance.

In the private sector, Brandi served as Director, Federal Governmental Affairs, for Duke Energy Corporation, a Fortune 125 company. There she worked to transform policy goals into legislative activities, managed a nearly $2 million PAC budget, briefed company executives and the CEO on strategic federal policy matters, and managed association and consultant relationships on behalf of the company. 

Immediately prior to joining The Ingram Group, Brandi lived in Brasilia, Brazil, as part of the U.S. Embassy Brasilia community.

Brandi advises a diverse set of clients across a number of industries. Clients of The Ingram Group appreciate Brandi for her ability to craft results-producing government affairs strategies. Brandi has a successful history of creating and leveraging strategic coalitions in pursuit of an objective. Additionally, Brandi is known for her ability to develop communications plans that work across the political spectrum. She adds value to her clients in a number of other ways as well, including preparing clients to provide congressional testimony, developing tools for grassroots engagement, supporting clients’ communications efforts and more.

Brandi earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Master of International Policy and Practice from The George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs. Brandi also studied at Fudan University in Shanghai, China.
