
RICH RIEBELING
Rich Riebeling, has spent his career at the center of what matters in Nashville and Tennessee. Riebeling served as Chief Operating Officer under former Nashville Mayors Megan Barry and David Briley, and as Finance Director to former Mayor Karl Dean. He began his public service as an aide to former Mayor Richard Fulton, after covering city affairs as a reporter for the Nashville Banner. Throughout those administrations, Riebeling oversaw some of the biggest municipal projects in Nashville’s history, including Music City Center, Ascend Amphitheater, and the Nashville Sounds baseball stadium. Since leaving the Mayor’s Office, Riebeling has consulted and advised clients across a variety of sectors, with a continuing focus on major, ambitious projects.
In addition to his work with Metro Nashville government, Riebeling is the former Tennessee Commissioner of Economic and Community Development. In that role, Riebeling drove efforts that made Tennessee one of the most business-friendly states in the nation.
Riebeling, a St. Louis native, moved to Nashville to work at the Nashville Banner and then attended Vanderbilt School of Law. In the private sector, he practiced law with an emphasis on public and private financing and held roles in investment banking. In addition to civic and charitable activities, he was appointed as an Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt University, where he taught a course on public finance.
